Introduction

This document contains the some more information about the assignment, some starting points for your work and the next things to do.

Also available as a Remark Presentation.

Status and Next steps

Current status:

  • all expression of interest received
  • accounts activated

Next steps:

  • Create a project page on Redmine (under SPM-2015)
  • Add your team (and me)
  • Write a project proposal
  • Upload it to Redmine (or use a Wiki page); let me know me when you are done
  • Wait for a formal ok. When ok: make the proposal into a plan (roadmap and "issues" in Redmine)

The Project Proposal

At a minimum:

  • Statement of work (your goal)
  • Measurable output(s)
  • Milestones and deliverables
  • Planned effort = budget

Be concise… I don't have time to read and you don't have time to write: 1-2 pages is enough.

Essays and Book Assignment

Some criteria to take into account for the project execution:

  • The breadth and depth of work: how much you have "digged"; how interesting is the material you have found
  • Completeness (especially for software development projects): when do you stop?
  • Control over the amount of work: it has to be proportionate to the points your are going to get

For the implementation work:

  • Adapt the software methodology we have seen to prepare a WBS/plan
    • The implementation of the Carbon, Water, Ecological Footprint offers the opportunity for mockups and user interfaces
    • The implementation of the translator requires more specification work

Delivering Deliverables

Choose a system/project for which you want to … deliver the deliverables

(This is going to be part of the project proposal.)
